A Deliciously Sweet, All-Natural Immune Booster Frozen Treat!

When cold and flu season are upon us, immune boosters are a top priority. 

With 3 little ones in tow, those nasty bugs are not welcome in our home!

Looking for ways to boost your child’s immune system?

We have an amazing, all-natural, immune booster for the entire family.  Plus it’s fun…it’s a frozen treats! 

You must try these! They are sweet with just the perfect amount of tartness.  The kids can’t resist (and neither can I).

Made with a combination of immune boosting herbs, high in anti-oxidants, flavonoids and anti-bacterial agents, mixed with lemon and honey.

Especially with 3-kids running around me!

In just a few minutes you’ll have these immune-boosting deliciousness resting in your freezer.

​Here is how I make them:


First, I want to tell you how they get their beautiful red color, from Hibiscus flowers! 

Dried hibiscus flower petals have so many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agents.  Hibiscus also provides our bodies with electrolytes, helping to quickly hydrate us, just what we need if fighting colds or flu.


​Elder-flower is an amazing herb, it’s been used for medicinal properties for hundreds of years. 

The flowers turn into little berries, which we then use for elderberry syrup.  But you don’t have to wait for the berries or syrup. 

​The flowers have strong medicinal properties as well and are also deliciously sweet.

With anti-septic, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties these flowers can be used for colds, flu, sinus infections and overall boosting our immune system.


Sometimes my kids need a little help calming down.  Do yours?

Weather its before bedtime or after school hyperactivity. I use lavender! It automatically relaxes us, melts away stress and calms our bodies.
Did you know that lavender also has powerful antioxidant properties that work to prevent and reverse disease in our bodies? 

Phytomedicie published a study in 2013 showing that lavender increases antioxidant activity in our bodies.  Other benefits include better brain function and healthier skin!
Brainy, calm, healthy kids! Yup! That sounds like the benefits of lavender!


​A highly nutritious ‘superfood’ with powerful
​anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and tissue-protective properties, the Moringa leaf is our last herb.
Moringa’s health benfits include a rich source of vitamins, minerals and amino acids.  It contains high amounts of vitamin A, C, and E, calcium, potassium and protein.


Lemon juice stimulates white blood cell production, vital for our immune system to function properly. Which means, we want to drink lemon juice every single day.  It’s that good for us.

It’s also high in vitamin C, calcium and potassium. Using lemon adds a deliciously tangy taste!


The health benefits of raw honey are numerous, including antioxidants and flavanoids to help our immune system, it’s a natural energy source, promotes sleep and can be used as a cough syrup, to heal and sooth sore throats and colds.

Local raw honey is always best.  This is one pantry staple that I always purchase at my local farmers markets.  Manuka honey is also a great choice for our recipe because of its many immune boosting properties.


I purchase herbs mainly at farmers markets and also dry many of them myself.  If you have access to elder-flowers or a Moringa tree, go ahead and dry them!

Hibiscus Flower
This particular combination of herbs tastes great together and they are good herbs to have on hand.  If a child gets sick, to make an energy- drink for soccer practices, help your child relax and calm down or simply for some ‘me’ time.  You will love having these on hand!

Why tea you ask?

​Well that’s the first step in making these Immune Boosting Frozen Treats!

1 heaping tsp of each: Hibiscus, Lavender, Elderflower & Moringa
1/4C        Raw honey
1/2C       Lemon juice


  1. Brew the tea leaves together.  Let seep about 10 – 15 minutes
  2. Mix the honey and lemon juice
  3. Pour into molds

Freeze 1 – 2 hours, until completely set. 
Or serve as chilled tea straight from your fridge, no need to wait!
